I'm not sure exactly what this is about.
1) Did you record using an external keyboard via MIDI?
2) Are you working in the sequencer view or in a score?
3) Do you want to use the mouse to change and expand what you have recorded... in the sequencer or in the notation?

The first question has been answered.
I don't understand the answers to questions two and three.
Should changes be made in the sequencer or in the notation?
These are two different editors that work in different ways.
Press F1 to open the help programme. Section ‘3.2 Working with the keyboard and mouse’ explains how to work in the notation.
Section ‘7.8 MultiGrid (Key and Drum Grid)’ explains how to work in the key grid.

The easiest way is in the sequencer view. There, you can easily insert a new track and also a new part.
(see 2.4 Example 3)
Then, double-click on the part to open the key grid. There, you can play something manually or via an external MIDI piano. Manual correction of what has been played can also be done much more precisely in the key grid.
Finally, you can display this track in the notation view and the sheet music is complete.
(see 2.5 Example 4)

All of this can also be done in the notation view, but it is much more difficult.

I also recommend watching the video tutorials. Even though they are in German, the steps are the same.
